Kaboom! Building Playgrounds and Smiles

Kaboom is a great organization that helps kids and kids at heart get back in the game to play.  Remember when you couldn’t wait to go outside and play when you were a kid?  My favorite thing on the playground was the swing.  I used to race my friends to see who could go the highest — almost to the point where you came out of your swing seat.  And then, when you couldn’t go any higher, you’d jump out of the swing at it’s highest point and see how far out you could land.   Well, today a whole bunch of people got together here in Phoenix at 27th Avenue and Camelback to create a nice playground for kids who before didn’t really have a decent place to play.  It was great to have so many people working together to make this happen – especially during a high heat advisory.  Oh, and it appears that even an old-skool rapper like Rev. Run DMC is a kid at heart, too.

So if you believe your  neighborhood could use a nice playground and wondered where to start, well look no further.  Kaboom allows you to set up a project to raise awareness and funds for it.    Playgrounds are a great way to help kids and build better communities, which is something we all benefit from.  Ready. Set. Go!  I’ll race you to the swings!
